Thinking about sleepaway camp for the first time? Rookie Day gives prospective first-time campers the chance to experience a real day at Camp Zeke before enrolling for the summer!
Parents and campers begin the morning together at Zeke. After a welcome from our directors, campers head off with our staff to become part of the camp community for the day, while parents tour camp, meet with various staff members, and have plenty of time to ask questions.
Rookie campers spend the day experiencing Zeke firsthand: meeting other campers, eating meals in the dining hall, and participating in some of the most popular activities that make up a summer at Zeke.
After the parent program concludes, parents leave camp (you can check out nearby Honesdale) while the Rookie campers continue their day independently. It’s a great opportunity for kids to see what it actually feels like to be away at camp, make new friends, and experience Zeke on their own.
Approximately 10:30 AM–2:30 PM. The exact schedule will be shared closer to the date.
Campers should wear comfortable, athletic clothing and bring a bathing suit and towel. Parents should wear comfortable walking shoes.
Rookie Day is complimentary for prospective Camp Zeke families. Open to rising 1st through 4th graders. Space is extremely limited and advance registration is required.
